Principals Message

Greetings Harrison Hawks Community,

It is my privilege and honor to be the principal of Harrison Elementary. I am excited to work with students, parents, and teachers to continue the upward trajectory of our school community in academics and social emotional learning. As a proud graduate of the Los Angeles Unified School District it is my dream to now serve our Harrison school community.

At Harrison, we are committed to creating a safe and caring atmosphere for all our students through School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (SWPBIS) implementation.  This is emphasized through our 3 B’s (Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe).  We believe that all students have the potential to increase their academic achievement to new heights. As a staff, we continually reflect on how best to create learning environments for our students. 

As a newly certified STEAM School every student has an opportunity to explore and further enhance their Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math skills through hands-on engaging lessons.  It is wonderful to see the excitement when students are engaged in thinking critically in mathematics problem solving, artistic creations, and science observations/engineering challenges.  These experiences will support students’ developing their creativity and interests that will begin to develop their career goals.

There are many opportunities to become involved at Harrison. Joining and being a part of the Parent Center and becoming a school volunteer is one way to get involved. Parents do so much for our children to make their days more enjoyable. Speak with our fantastic Parent Representatives so that we can get you processed as an LAUSD volunteer. 

Our school is at the center of our community and we know that the role of education is shared with parents and guardians. Share your feedback, lend your talents and contribute in any way you can to ensure that our Hawks soar!
